Exactly what it is. People single him out as the best character in the game because he's that cool strong old guy. He's 3rd at best. He doesn't touch Yuna or Tidus.

I've always liked the strong silent types. Auron is badass. He's way better than Tidus and Yuna.

I of course don't even like Tidus much at all. I don't really care for FFX's cast at all. I only like Yuna because of her Aeons, she became my most powerful character. Her actual character is lame. I'm just not a fan of the personalities in FFX.

When I was in high school, when it came to video games, it was only cool if you played FPS games or really violent games. Thinking a FF character was cool wasn't cool.

He's really not that bad. He's got some pretty good background, and even though he's not deep at all, his underlying character traits are pretty cool.
