Like take House for example. I really doubt House is still pulling the kind of ratings they were getting like 4 years ago. So how about they pull a surprise genre switch when House discovers that one of his patients is actually possessed or cursed, and the show becomes a supernatural action series. It'd get people talking about the show!

Just turn it into a cop drama like every other show. People can't seem to get enough of those. Or a singing show. Or a musical cop drama.

Well obviously. House figures out that the only way to fix his leg is to go back in time to before it got messed up. But he goes TOO FAR BACK and ends up in 1880s London where he SOLVES MYSTERIES.
