Same goes for Maximo and Ring of Red, two of the other PS2 classics.

Already bought God Hand.

I barely played both... and I forgot what Odin Sphere is like >_>

Grim Grimoire is a weird RTS game.

They're both pretty terrible.

They just look good spritewise, and that's pretty much it.

Grim Grimoire is an RTS, and there's pretty much just one map/background for the entire game.

Odin Sphere is a sort of a brawler, but with some leveling up and cumbersome inventory management. It's also incredibly repetitive due to lack of enemy and terrain variety (each location is pretty much the same except for a few with a gimmick like extreme heat or cold that inflict damage on you unless you stock up on specific potions to counteract each effect), without even getting into how you have to play through the game five times with five different characters to get to the end and they go through most of the the same locations and fight the same bosses just in a slightly different order. And as alluded to earlier you have a fairly limited amount of inventory slots, and it's tied up with a lot of seeds that you have to wait around after you clear a map to plant and harvest items as well as collect vegetables for food recipes that you also have to pay with specific coins.

Super harsh score, but this is pretty much dead-on otherwise. Odin Sphere is totally worth playing. Grim Grimoire is...iffier.

I wouldn't give Odin Sphere above a 5/10. it's definitely not above average.

Odin Sphere's main issue is the lag. if that were fixed, it'd be a much better game. even with it, the game's above average.

Grim is eh.

Maximo is honestly pretty damn good of a series, but hard.

I liked Odin Sphere, looks like I'm in the minority though. It did have lag issues especially on some of the boss fights, but otherwise enjoyable I thought.
