It's so widespread that most people don't even realize its a bad thing. Perhaps its because the gypsies don't have the anti-discrimination infrastructure that other minority groups have.

Case in point: a movie that came out recently called Drag Me To Hell. It's about a gypsy woman placing a powerful curse on a white woman because the white woman was a heartless *****. If the movie had had a black person using some voodoo magic, people would have had a **** fit.

I guess times haven't changed much since World War II, when the gypsies were made to suffer as much as the Jews did. The only difference is that the Jews were rewarded for their suffering and were given a country as well as antisemiticism being reexamined , where as the gypsies didn't.

To be fair, Jewish people have been successful worldwide and that probably contributes to the idea of their self-worth.

Yes, they are a group of millions also known as the Romani. They are a nomadic people and were also targeted for extermination by the Nazis in concentration camps. From what I know, they experience widespread racism in Europe and nobody defends them.

In my experience Gypsys...aren't particularly good people, just saying.

And then there are literally millions of movies where whites, blacks, spanish, asians, etc are murderers, doing other bad things, engaging in stereotypes, etc. It's fiction. Your example is god awful.

For a second, I thought it was something to do with MST3K.

Well after doing a bit o' internet research on the Gypsies, it seems like they have it pretty bad. It seems like they are disliked for not integrating in whichever countries' cultures they inhabit and have been known to cause trouble. Still surprised to see so much racism against them with nobody caring.

once when i was on the bus into town, a bunch of like 10-15 gypsies want to get on at a stop, but the bus driver says "no i know you're not gonna pay for the ride" and drives off
