I know, but I already have an account with Cata on it, and you can't just play characters with an account that's already got high level characters on it.

If you're been gone long enough and know people who are playing, I think you can get a "Scroll of Resurrection" or something which gives a few weeks free game-time. I think it might be limited though; during WotLK you could only do it to people who only had BC. Or something.

Mostly to be sociable. I don't live near many of my close friends, so it's an activity I can do with a handfull of them remotely. The only raiding I've done is for ones that are well below what my actual level is (for example, I've done the raid that has Illidan as a boss, but not before reaching 85 and being able to godstomp him with crap gear for my level).

Played since launch and I finally broke free near the end of WotLK. So bloody glad to have that game out of my life, it's a legitimately huge improvement.
