The old graphics, ect are all present, but would any of the following changes be a good idea?
- Infinite TM usage - Special stat split - Physical and Special attacks determined as they are in Diamond/Pearl and on(rather than type) - Magnemite and Magneton having their Steel type. - Moves use their current stats?(ex: Hi Jump Kick with 130 POW, Bite as Dark-type) - Using the current IV/EV system(note: IVs and EVs have been in Pokemon since R/B, just a little different than what they are now). This would probably be necessary for B/W trading. - Running Shoes(to be honest, walking is irritating). - Should certain attacks be present for better coverge(Outrage, X-Scissor, Shadow Ball, Sludge Bomb, Giga Drain, nothing more). Perhaps moves that actual debuted first in the original TCG(Ghasty's Destiny Bond, Blastoise's Rain Dance, Sunny Day to balance the former).
I don't think Held Items, Abilities, and Natures should be in(the former would probably have to, seeing that Nintendo would likely make it B/W compatible).
Even so, a RBY port to the 3DS Virtual Console would be wonderful, with Wifi added in and stuff. It would also be a good way to release those DW abilities.
Why wouldn't they just port FR/LG? They could even hypothetically update it to interact with D/P/Pt, though I doubt they'd bother. The original was so damn buggy...
They could do it as a 3D Classic. Maybe colourise it properly, but otherwise keep the blocky graphics, just turn the pixels into cubes and shift the camera angle down a bit.

1. Much of why everyone loves RBY was the experience; everyone being crazy over Pokémon and playing the game. Not something you can recreate 2. Keeping the graphics intact is not what everyone wants; people who are nostalgic over the graphics are in a "Haha oh man those were SO bad" way, not a "Man, graphics were so much better back then" way. 3. The outdated mechanics are integral to the original game's experience. 4. Gamefreak is not going to recreate the glitches and those are also where a lot of the nostalgic love for RBY comes from (see-Missingno v. Crono/Sephiroth). 5. It's no longer a port at the point where they've added in all these mechanics and Wifi.
Basically, what you're proposing is take RBY graphics and add some new mechanics; basically Fr/Lg if they didn't change the graphics and were made 2 generations later. This is inherently a terrible idea that defeats the entire reasoning behind making the remake-nostalgia.

If you knew anything about video game graphics you would look at this post and laugh.
I'm almost positive that that last thing on that list is not true (about Fly/Dig). At least if it is true, then they fixed it before I got my copy of the game.

I meant 'just' in the sense of leaving it looking more or less the same, not to imply it would be easy. But if there is (inexplicable) demand for a retro-looking Pokemon game, then Nintendo have set the precedent of making pixelly graphics into cubey graphics, so why not do it to Pokemon?
If nothing else, it's bound to be more popular than Twinbee.
