Like ten minutes after I start playing, the game warns me to get into cover because an "emisison" is coming. I had just stopped by a couple of guys who started to run away, so I went with them. Everything gradually got more and more red and dark, until I could hardly see in front of me. I died outside, but I could see the others still running!! How aren't they effected by it HUH.

You have like 5 minutes to find cover from one of those... and the game even points you towards the closest cover! I never actually tried running around in one, though, it was too scary. I think you can survive it with better armor and stuff though.

Yeah, it did point to somewhere, but I didn't know if it was a different quest location or actual cover I could use. Plus the other guys got up and started running once the message went out, I thought they knew the closest available cover.

I don't know, one of them was pretty cool he told me where some downed helicopters were. But then he stopped mid-sentence and refused to ever talk to me again.

There's not much time for me both take revenge on those guys and get into cover, so I chose to try and survive. I came across this crevice in the ground next to the gas station. I was slowly walking around it when I made one wrong step and fell down. But, I didn't die. I couldn't get back up either, and I still needed cover. I kept going down and down until I was at the bottom, and safe. I waited out the emission, which even was still a bit tense since I could see the red skies above me. It past and I started looking around my area.
With no way to go up near me, I turned on my flashlight and explored the dark caves around me. It wasn't long before I met my very first enemy, what looked like a mutated dog man of some kind. Outside of my cone of light was near pitch black darkness, so I didn't have much room to actually see him. I was able to kill him somewhat swiftly, but not before he got some good strikes on me. I should have healed right after the fall, so that combined with the monster gave me heavy damage. I tried to heal afterwards, but going into your inventory does pause the game and I heard another beast coming my way. I ran randomly through the caves, but either it or another caught up to me. I tried to kill it, but this one was just too fast and I died I think I'll need to look for a different place for cover.
