I'm sorry you don't like them, but some people do and there are some legitimately great characters in anime. You shouldn't just exclude one entire medium because you don't like it.

Are you going to allow comic book character? Cause then its just blatently not fair to anime/manga fans.

Maybe have a contest for particular media. So you would have a best book character contest, a best live-action movie character contest, a best anime character contest, etc. That way everyone's happy :D

It seems it's always the anime characters and the culturarly iconic non-anime characters that get the votes.

Well yeah, we aren't a board who is trying to do anything other than vote for our favorites. Also in the last fictional contest one of the most popular characters was Sherlock Holmes, so I am a bit confused where this is coming from.

But you're clearly stereotyping here and being very judgmental.

I'm perfectly fine with Shion losing, but you're getting upset enough to make a topic about a character you love losing to a character you presumably don't like just because you've already come up with some preconceived notions about the qualities of that character.

Completely agree with you here. I wouldn't mind seeing some competitions involving everything, but I'd definitely like to see anime do their own **** sometimes.
