The only way they can make up for Deadshot looking that dumb in Arkham City is if there's a Secret Six boss fight.

...I mean, hey. Bane was in the first game, so that's 2/6 right there! Potentially three or four if they use Harley and/or Mad Hatter. Add in Vandal, Catman, and Ragdoll and we're good to go.

Looks like 3rd week DC books are getting even more orders than the second week, which got even more orders than the first.

When I went to Dr. Nos for this weeks comics, they were out of about half the #1s. That may not sound like a big deal all things considered, but at Dr. Nos, that just does not happen. When I spoke to the employee when I was paying for the months pull about 6 weeks ago, he was very adamant in saying "we've over-ordered all these #1, even more than usual. No matter how much business jumps, we'll end up sending a good third of them back at least, so don't worry if you miss something you preorder", abridged of course. But here we are, sold out, and a third of the comics they order would have been a good 20-50 copies a comic, depending on which one we're talking about.

Week 3 is gonna be f***ing awesome. Batman, Red Hood, Nightwing, oh man, so excited. I'm almost positive it'll easily be the best week of the relaunch.

So far for me it's week 1 > week 2, and I'm sure week 3 will be the best, and week 4 will be alright, but it really only has Aquaman, Flash, and Teen Titans, so... I'm gonna guess:

Week 3 > Week 1 > Week 4 > Week 2

I'm unsure about 4 being over 2, that might end up being reversed, but I'm not sure.

There's Green Lantern New Guardians, which I'm not very confident on because I wasn't a huge fan of Bedard on GLC, but it's there, and I'll read it. For me, week four has Aquaman and Firestorm, which I am really excited for, Flash, which will be beautiful, and JLD, which I am vaguely interested in.

Next week....nothing really interests except for Batman (which will be amazing but I'm waiting for the trade), Red Hood (which my friend is buying), and GLC now that Tomasi is back. Nightwing, Blue Beetle, and Wonder Woman I want to check out but there's nothing I'm hyped for aside from Batman.


But I don't expect either to top week 1 or 2. Animal Man/Action/Frankenstein/Demon Knights are almost too good.

went to the LCS i usually go to just awhile ago since i couldn't go yesterday to get Batwoman

they're all out so i just picked up Demon Knights and thought I'd check out the other one on the mall across

of course, they're also all out of Batwoman

did not even think that was possible here in my wonderful third world country

reserved Batman and Wonder Woman because i've got a feeling they'll be cleaned out the shelves if Batwoman sold out within a day!

funny thing though is i still saw copies of Green Lantern in the first LCS i went to!

Nothing in week 2 got above a 4/5 for me. Week 1 has three 5s, with only one being terrible (Detective Comics) but at least not so GOD DAMN AWFUL that I would want it erased from life like that one comic from this week that doesn't exist.

Batman will be amazing and I can't believe you would wait for a trade to get in on it, that's just silly. Red Hood will probably be great, and I actually really enjoyed Deathstroke, and with Gates of Gotham was amazing, so I have a lot of faith in Kyle Higgins now, so I'm really looking forward to Nightwing. Especially since I loved the previous Nightwing series from beginning to end (except the OYL story) just because I love Dick Grayson, so I look forward to anything featuring him.

And I forgot about Firestorm, I'm looking forward to that as well, so that's four titles I'm excited for in week 4, but the level of excitements for those don't come close to my hype for Batman, Red Hood, and Nightwing.

People probably looked at a page or two of Batwoman and thought to themselves "HOLY CRAP this artwork must buy."

So Green Lantern looked like s*** in comparison.

Oh I'm not waiting on a trade to read it, I'll get one of my friends to buy it or borrow it otherwise, but I'm getting the trade of Snyder's Detective when it comes out and single issues will look silly next to that. Same reason I wait on trades for GL ongoings; I already have a bunch of collections. I'm weird, I know. <_<

I just am still unsure if I'm actually going to buy anything next week.

read Demon Knights and it was a fun issue with some good build-up (especially that ending good lord yesss) and the artwork was great, too, surprisingly

if the trend of these fantasy books being good continues, Wonder Woman should also be on par!

I voted for Lex Luthor. He's one of the few villains that when written correctly, I smile every time I read his dialog. I find his eternal struggle against Superman despite all his strengths endlessly amusing and tragic, a compelling antagonist to the world's first superhero. He's actually surpassed the Joker as my favorite DC badguy the past few years.

After finishing, all of these critics seem ridiculously over-critical and almost even spiteful for the most part. I don't think I like these people at all.

No, actually, I don't think they're very fair at all. A lot of their statements don't hold any water in my mind, some are so disgustingly wrong they may as well be faking it. Not always the case, but I'm seeing it often.

Perhaps they're not overly-critical(whatever the hell that actually means), perhaps you're just pleased too easily! Its obvious you wnet into a lot of these books destined to love them months ago, and maybe that is coloring your interpretation to the flaws several critics have been pointing out.

There were plenty of books I've liked that I didn't expect to, and other I thought were way worse than I had hoped. More of the latter, actually. No, I'm not buying that argument at all. I've heavily disagreed with the folks at Giant Bomb on many, many occasions, but they're still my favorite source for reviews and opinions on the net, by far. If I disliked critics for not agreeing with me on products, I'd have dropped them a long time ago.

There are statements being made in these "reviews" that I can't see the side of at all, no matter how objective a stance I try to take.

If you feel so strongly about the poor quality of these reviews you should easily be able to comment on them beyond a disagreement with the score.

unfortunately, the story's pretty incoherent, even on a "getting the team together" level. And anyone who writes Etrigan the Demon without bothering to make him rhyme is just signaling that they're not trying very hard. 3.


The story was very starightforward, saying it wasn't coherent is absurd, and really just shows that he's really not paying much attention. Being upset at the Demon not rhyming all the time is fine, but saying it means Cornell isn't TRYING, and that somehow it hurts the book? That just seems like a case of Alan Moore ****-sucking to me.

The entirety of the Legion Lost section implies that none of these people have ever heard of In Medias Res. And the overall oipinion that the story was hard to follow...I had 3 other people in this room with me on Wednesday. We all read Legion Lost. None of us had any problems following along at all, and I'm the only one who had ever read ANY Legion stories. Make of that what you will.

A perfectly decent issue of a moderately OK series that ran for a couple of years in the '90s. (And this week's second Madame Xanadu appearance.) I have no idea why anyone thought it needed a revival, though. 4


This is just baffling. He says NOTHING. "Why is there a new Res Man book? 4."

People read about Superboy to read about a teenage version of Superman, be it Conner or Clark Kent; this is just a story about some clone dude who's being used to kill people and Deathstroke's daughter and Caitlin Fairchild are around for no reason I can really discern. I guess this could have been an okay #1 about another character, but absolutely nothing about this really feels like a solid take on Superboy to me


WAAAAAH, NOT MY SUPERBOY! Grife. I've already talked about how people like this are not to be taken seriously at all. I LOVE Superboy. He's one of my top 10 characters. I love everything that's been done with the character over the last 10 years, especially recently. But I can look past that and see that, even though this is a drastically different take, it's still an interesting story and has a lot of potential. This guy apparently can't.

Pretty much every review of Legion Lost I read(ComicsAlliance, IGN, CBR, ComicsBeat, etc) has talked about the book feeling rushed and non-new reader friendly. That doesn't mean that applies to EVERYBODY, but it is a complaint that is coming up constantly towards the book, so its not just CA people being lazy or whatever.

Sometimes, all you need to say is the book is "perfectly decent". The artwork is clear, the storytelling serviciable, the set-up adaquetely explained, the boxes get checked off. Its not that bad, but its not that good either so...decent. What more is there to say? It is the official Dan Jurgens comic criticism, as I always say.

The Superboy guy didn't think it was interesting. He didn't like this new take on Superboy, nor does he have to. Its hard to give a damn about a book if you don't care about the character or the plot, which he comments on. I like Action Comics, but it still doesn't feel much like Superman, with him looking like a hobo and torturing people. Having preferences in your favorite characters isn't some crime; you just seen how the internet reacted when Amanda Waller physique changed.

Maybe I do just have a wider range of taste than most critics, as this seems to be the case often. Most reviewers like things done ONE WAY, and if it's not done that way then they hate it, and that's not just the case with comics. I suppose I should just be content liking what I do and not care about the pessimists of the world.

As a friend of mine put it when I was browsing reviews on Wednesday, "You never read comic reviews before this, why start now?".

He also claimed that "professional review" was an oxymoron, but I don't think that's the case.

In the end, people like what they like. One guy can go on and on(and ON) about how bad Detective Comics #1 was, and another guy can talk about how much he loved it, and all the things first hated were things he liked.

Personally, the only comic reviews I read are the funny ones or the really terrible ones(which are usually the funny ones)

Concurred. Reviews are pretty much not useful in any medium for me. Not counting podcasts that have reviews, podcasts are glorious. But I just check out stuff that looks cool to me.
