It's more fun with a buddy. The AI co-op isn't too popular. This is a stretch, but if you can actually get a friend with a second copy of the game, a second 360, and second TV and do a system-link playthrough, it's a pretty awesome experience.

You don't have to do that. You can play 2 player split-screen.

The game varies wildly depending on if you gave a good co-op buddy or not. Storywise its easily in last, and gameplay was worse than 4. But I've had so much fun playing through multiple times with FFD, its easily my most played RE game.

I don't really like to rank RE4 and 5 amongst the rest of the series.

However I thought RE5 was still a great game, and would probably give both it and 4 a 9/10.

True, but it's definitely not the same experience (I've tried both). Split screen preserves the aspect ratio, so like a quarter of the screen space will be blank. Going all-out with a second screen and 360 takes a lot more effort, but it was an awesome day of gaming for me.

I have someone to play it with if buy it. Sadly it'd have to be split screen. Glad it has that at least.

Like a 5/10 single player, about an 8 or 9 multiplayer

And ranking the series... man that's hard. The only solid order is 4>2>REMake at the top, and all three are 10/10 Game of the Ever contenders. After that, the order changes all the time. It'll probably change again after I replay CV.

Single-player is good, multiplayer is top-notch. Mercenaries is also awesome. RE5 great game.
