With the significant price drop I'm now thinking of getting one, but I'm wondering, is there anything special on it yet, or would it just be a portable OoT at this point? I'm afraid that if I wait for November when Mario Land/Mario Kart/Kid Icarus come out it'll be hard to find due to the holiday rush, and I'm busy finishing up the Ace Attorney games right now anyway.

If you're afraid you wont be able to get it in november than why not just get it now anyway since you're planning to anyway?

SMT: Devil Survivor Overclocked may be the only game worth it right now besides OoT.

Devil Survivor Overclocked and Ghost Recon are the two main games on it besides OoT and Starfox, so it's up to 4 right now that are pretty great. Dead or Alive is also supposed to be the best DoA in a long time, which would make 5.

you'll have a better idea of what's coming out before the year's end when Nintendo does their conference. you'll also have the option of another color, though i'm not sure if that came out already. there are frequent sales by retailers regarding the 3DS though, both its games (DoA and Ghost Recon shouldn't cost you more than $20 each) and the system (e..g, buy a 3DS get a game for $10 was a few weeks ago at TRU), so when you see a good offer, jump on it. hell, next week TRU is doing another solid sale on this:

3DS SYSTEM - $169.99 + $25 GC when you buy Starfox 64 3D (3DS)
Ghost Recon also is $20 with a $5 GC.

Mario's Picross is on the Virtual Console. Literally the best game on the system right now. Well, maybe Star Fox is better, I haven't played that one yet.

But Mario's Picross is a Gameboy game, and the puzzles are free DLC in Picross DS. Just sayin'.

I'd honestly wait for a Black Friday bundle at that point.

Odds are they'll be one bundled with OoT and maybe one with Star Fox 64.

Or you could always wait for the inevitable redesign that'll have the 2nd slider pad built-in.

for all this 'wait until a redesign!" just be aware that it's a good year or so away. nothing's changing this season and it's already got one of the best library's a system's had 4 months into its life. in 9 it will quite possibly have the best year any system has had in terms of software worth playing. bundles though you might find one for christmas, might not. the best advice right now is just wait until nintendo does their conference in a couple days.

Hmm.. This sounds like a good deal, though I'm not sure how interested I am in Star Fox right now. I mean, I like the original, but it's not one that I'm willing to pay $40 for (I mean it'd really be like $15 with the GC, but still). Plus I was kinda hoping to use/rack up Best Buy Rewards points.
