The problem is that the mods are seen as infallible when they are not. If the mods who constantly make mistakes or abuse their power were flagged up by other mods and thrown out after it happened X amount of times then it would go a long way to fixing the mod/user relationship. Instead when this happens it is just swept under the carpet or we are told that the mods were correct anyway. And the sad thing is, I bet there's actually more good moderators than bad. As far as I know they aren't paid at all, and all this site has going for it is the community and the content the community produces LoL/WoW forums are discussion for a specific game and the moderators are paid to be there. It's their job to represent the company.... whereas mods here are simply volunteering at a place they like to be.
