Much like the Civil War and Pearl Harbor reenactments we see at founder's day festivals and air shows, this September 11th, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of 911, we are conducting the first ever 9/11 reenactment!!! Come experience the action and thrill of one of the worst days in American history.
Also get your chance to win an Osama bin Laden "Mission Accomplished" T-shirt.

I wasn't aware there were Pearl Harbor reenactments.

So do I end up on government watch lists just for being vaguely associated with this guy?

I'm not sure how to remove friends off of Facebook, but now would be the time to do so.

I pretty much used to accept Facebook friend requests from anyone I recognized, whether I was actually friends with them or not.

Wow. That is incredibly offensive, I'm British and don't think 9/11 should ever be the butt of any joke.

I think there are certain things that will just never be fair game.

The idea of a 9/11 reenactment is funny for the fact that I'm not sure how you would reenact that as you would the Civil War, and somehow I keep picturing someone dressed up as a building and another person wearing a plane costume.

But still, it just doesn't seem like any good can come of starting that event. If it offends a sufficient number of people, at least it could end up on TV and I can be like "Hey, I could have been involved in that! Only I had common sense!"

Even though this is in really poor taste, I'm more concerned with how they're going to reenact it. Maybe if it makes the news we'll find out.

TOPIC DERAIL TIME

Nothing should be off limits in the name of humor. Once you are unable to find a nugget of humor in an otherwise horrible situation, you've already lost. This isn't to say that the joke probably won't be in bad taste, because it most certainly will, but that does not preclude it from being laughable.

I dunno, those pictures with Hulk Hogan hitting the buildings with a chair are pretty hilarious.

This was also my initial thought, and why I mentioned being put on a government watchlist. The vagueness of the description is the kind of thing that could cause trouble with people who don't joke about national security.

This is always what I say, too. Just not in this topic because right now it's more fun to let people bash the guy who did this.

While I agree that most things can be made the topic of humor, I don't see how a 9/11 reenactment can possibly be funny.

Hmmm, I do get your point, I don't want to start a debate as it's not as if my opinions are too strong on this, I just don't find the subject matter funny.

This is true. But not being funny and not being capable of being the butt of a joke are very different.

Also, to be fair, the event said "action and thrill".
