I've been living just around the edges of the East Cleveland suburb for the past four years

http://www.neighborhoodscout.com/oh/east-cleveland/crime/

less safe than 98% of U.S. neighborhoods

1 in 87 chance of being a victim of a violent crime

1 in 13 chance of being a victim of a property crime

767 crimes per square mile compared to national median of 41.8

and the crime there was a lot worse about six years ago, if wikipedia is to be believed.

Camden, NJ

I think this place goes back and forth with Washington as the most crime-filled city in the world. Cops literally tell you to run red lights so you don't get killed.

you know there's this place called Mogadishu.

I've visited St. Louis numerous times in the past, and I've always liked it a lot. However, I've never visited East St. Louis, and I really doubt I'm missing out on much.

Yeah, we're racists because Gary is an asstastic city. The tons of crime, heavy gang activity, and high murder rate? That's fine. The generally run down, ****ty appearance of the city? Definitely doesn't impact our opinions. It's gotta be the black people!

Gary is pretty bad if only for the fact that they have a pretty damn high number of murders, yet only have like 80k population. Then there's the fact that it's just a bad city. Even if you weren't likely to be murdered at a stop light in broad daylight (with tons of witnesses who couldn't remember anything, no less!), it is still a boring, ugly city.

flint produced mark ingram so it's awesome

I've worked in Flint.
I've played High School football in Flint.

There's nothing in this world that could redeem that city.

And considering the fact that Ingram was A) born in New Jersey and B) spent all but one year of his High School life in Grand Blanc (which is a lot nicer and home to AC Delco World Headquarters), calling him "From Flint" is a stretch.

Saginaw is most definitely not worse. I lived there for a while. It's rough and stuff, but worse than Flint? Not in a million years. Saginaw does have some truly awful areas, though.

They say he's from Flint because Flint has absolutely nothing going for it and since he spent one year at a Flint school they took credit for him. Actually, if you drive down I75 towards Flint there's a sign that says "Welcome to Grand Blanc: Home of 2009 Heismen Trophy Winner Mark Ingram"

My memory is a little fuzzy on that last part because I stopped working in Flint and don't see the sign anymore.

I haven't been anywhere THAT bad, most bad places I have been at least have nice PARTS. I guess the bad parts of Sanford, FL is probably the worst...it was where my high school was, and we were gated, had several security guards, and on more than one occasion got let out of class late because there was homicides on the street outside.

Buffalo, New York. I've only been through there on Greyhound buses (because who would go there for any other reason?), but what I've seen of the city looks awful. It seems like it got developed and then abandoned, with ****ty decrepit buildings all over the place and tons of hobos. Rochester, New York is in the same boat. Also Cleveland.

New Jersey seemed crappy the only time I've been through there, but I was 9 years old so I'm sure my memory is fuzzy. All I remember was smog and smoke and smokestacks and metal towers and wires everywhere. I made the decision right then and there to think that Jersey is a ****ty state for the rest of my life. Jersey Shore has only confirmed my youthful suspicions.

I can believe it. Ha a Staples Fulfillment Center is not very creepy though, its a warehouse that delivers office supplies to various businesses (apparently).

interesting, I never looked into it, me and a friend had to go to lawrence once to pick up one of his friends and we saw this on the way there, it just seemed really strange and off at the time(probably because the area already throws off a constant aura of "you might randomly get shot at at any time" anyway)
