I would have to say it was the best movie in the series since Final Destination 2.

Also, I am never ever ever ever ever ever ever getting contacts or Laser Eye surgery since seeing this movie. Glasses forever.

Anyway, I loved FD5! The 3D was used very effectively, and the ending was pretty much orgasmic.

I have not seen it yet, but your assessment of it is promising (especially since #4 was lame) and nothing is spoiled since the laser-eye thing is even more consistent with trailers than with your post, so I'm looking foward to it even more now!

Just finished, the whole movie was top tier.

Also, the opening scene is the best in the series bar none.

I can agree with that entire post. 4 is a godawful abomination in terms of the utter lack of character development of ANYONE prior to their deaths. And the opening scene can really only be rivaled by FD2's highway crash.

I give 5 the nod for the opening because 2's was more of "this is what happens, and it's really really cool", while 5 actually expanded it and gave the scene a good deal of suspense
