It required a rediculously expensive and complex controller.

It had some INFURIATING mechanics, not the least of which being if you died, IT ERASED YOUR SAVE FILE.

And yet despite those, the game was so incredibly deep, detailed, and fun, it was well worth the effort and headaches.

And now it's almost making me consider getting a Kinect, but it's just not the same without the controller.

And then you lost a very expensive mech and quite possibly then had to retry the mission in a worse one, or had to manually reset the file if you couldn't afford a new one!

Also, the game is an example of how realism CAN make a great game, although I won't say every game should focus on realism.
