It is a toss up between San Diego or Vancouver! Intervals for the Great Vancouver EQ have been 390 - 570 years over the past 2600 years, but I think it could be only 310 years.

I will go with San Diego!

Actually, if you're going to go for big ones in the US, your best bets are looking to be off the coast of Oregon, or just outside of Memphis, TN.

There's a fault line that, IIRC, is just off the coast of Seaside, OR that's going to pretty much level the city if they're ever hit.

Well hell, honestly, between the big predictions, I'd rather Oregon get hit. The Oregon prediction leaves Seaside and a few other coastal towns severely hurt, but they have some preparations for the worst of it. The Tennessee predictions would leave Memphis and surrounding cities absolutely leveled in one of the if not the worst natural disasters in history.

Well, it was more like, why make a topic predicting an earthquake/tsunami and try to make a deal to get free stuff from Board 8 if you're right?

Something seems inherently disturbing about that.

I'm safe if the epicenter is on the fault line. Even if it is, though, my parents live not too far from the fault and I would worry for them.

It's not like I want anything to happen.

I just think the western coast of North America is next. It is better to wonder and maybe see something coming rather than to ignore the possibility completely and pretend you are immune to natural disasters. One reason why I will never live in a coastal region!

I always laugh at people and their insane fear of earthquakes, when other parts of the country have hurricanes, tornadoes, blizzards, floods, and volcanoes. I was shocked when I lived on the east coast and people would tell me "I could never live in California because of EARTHQUAKES OMG"

This is actually a valid prediction, one that I could definitely see happening. Scientists have already run simulations as to what would happen to society. Pretty scary stuff:

I would not rule out the possibility of a Cascadian 9.0 earthquake in the Northwest by the end of the decade, considering the recent major 8.8+ events in Japan, Chile, and Sumatra. It is possible that the Pacific fault is realigning itself which could mean more very major earthquakes along its boundaries.

Short of a 9.6 (Moment magnitude scale - the Richter magnitude scale has been obsoleted for about 40 years now) hitting the center of NYC I doubt any natural disasters we have will be worse than that flood.

It very well could. Potentially one of the strongest earthquakes in the country almost centered on a massively populated city with no earthquake preparations; the death toll could easily top that, with unprecedented damages.
