Lots of Dudley too. There's also been a resurgence of lower tier characters in tournament play, I've seen a lot of Remy in videos lately and Hugo has a few really good players.

Huh? I never said Fei was balanced in AE, necessarily, just that he didn't need as many nerfs as he got. Changing the rekkas to be less safe and do less chip was a good call, but I think he the damage he did on his other moves was okay. Overall, I don't think they totally ruined him or anything, but he could have maybe come out better than he did. Understandable changes, though. Also I like Fei Long so there's that!

• Dee Jay can now cancel out of Sobat Carnival (Super) into Sobat Festival (Ultra 1). This makes him, according to the blog, the only other character besides Dan who can cancel a Super directly into Ultra.

Hammer Hook (Toward + Hard Punch) has been heavily revised in terms of frame advantage. If Hammer Hook lands on a standing opponent, then Cody is at +3 frame advantage. If he hits a crouching opponent with it he gets +1 frame advantage. If the move is guarded, Cody is at -4 frame disadvantage.

Okay, someone explain to me what this means.

A + frame advantage means once the move is done, that's how many frames you have to start your next move before your opponent does. A - frame disadvantage means your opponent has that many frames to start their next move before you do.

So if Cody uses that move against Zangief and he gets blocked, and then at -4, Zangief could do something like spinning piledriver which starts in two frames.

But if Zangief tried to do a hard kick or something which I'd guess takes like 14 frames to start or so, then Cody could definitely block in time because there was only a 4 frame delay after his move.

I never said it wasn't fulfilling its purpose. Everyone will cheer and moan depending on how their characters change, nothin' wrong with that. Balance isn't necessarily achieved by severely punishing the top and making everyone else better, though. Looking forward to hearing about how far these changes go once people can get their hands on it. They're doing the location tests this week, aren't they?
