It's completely dependent on you being obsessed with it, which I just plain am not. I bought it in Alpha so I guess I have every version of it for free for life, but I really doubt I'll ever play it again. I made, like, a cave with a glass floor and called it good. I hate grinding in games and, at least in my experience, all Minecraft it is grinding. I like the open-endedness of it, but man, is this game boring.
6/10, and five of those points are based on the idea that other people really, really like it.

... Isn't the more germane point that you just don't like the genre and thus not the game either?

Minecraft is not my kind of game either, tbh, but my brother and his friends have gotten many hours of enjoyment from it. I think it is a great game, but it's not geared toward how I like to play.
It would probably be more fun if I bothered to play with other people but yeah I got bored with it after a few days. It's like playing with legos but you have to farm your blocks. Just not for me

Yeah, If I'm gunna play with Legos i'm gunna pull the 3 60 Gallon Tubs of Lego out of my garage that i've been saving for my kids. (That may have been a slight exaggeration)
It's always fascinated me but never appealed to me. I have a few close friends who play it including my girlfriend but like WoW and whatnot all attempts at getting me into it have failed. Just... doesn't work.
