The fight takes place in Happiness Island - The in-game equivalent of the island on which the Statue of Liberty is situated. There is a small museum, the Statue of Happiness itself, and several small docks on the island. Access to the rest of the city is forbidden.. Guidelines - The fight will occur in real-time (like an FMV sequence). Gameplay mechanics are less important than how the characters would function in a real-time environment. - "Broken" refers to a lot of things, including insta-death, auto-effects, a variety of status effects (e.g., Imp, Silence, Stop, not Poison), and revival. Unless stated otherwise, nobody has them, though do use your own discretion. - There may be SPOILERS from all of the games the characters are from. Rules for Voting - Bold your votes (using <b> and </b>). - Provide a justification for why you think the selected merc would win. Fanboy logic, ignoring character assumptions or rules, and vague or unintelligible justifications are all grounds for having your vote disqualified. - If you want to switch your vote, simply bold the change; there's no need to delete your post, though you may if you wish. - This match will end when one side reaches 7 votes, or in 6 hours, whichever comes first. X_Dante_X 08/12/11 9:26:00 PM #2:	Duke is very egotistical, and ready to take on the entire damn world. What he isn’t, however, is capable of taking a bullet to the skull. Sniper wolf has an hour (which to a sniper is all the time in the world) in order to locate Duke, and kill him. If Duke even realizes someone is out to get him, he isn’t the kind of guy who’d try to hide in terror – he’d go out and attempt to face his threat like a man, and beat them mano a mano. Unfortunately for him, Wolf isn’t a man, and isn’t afraid of fighting dirty with some sniping action. Either way, Duke just doesn’t have the durability to survive one bullet, nor does he have the maneuverability to dodge one – even with his jetpack. Wolf makes a living sniping tough targets, his movements in the jetpack wouldn’t be a big deal. Duke does have the use of his Holoduke, which is his greatest asset in trying to lure away Wolf’s bullet – but it only lasts 92 seconds , and Wolf tracks her targets much longer than that before taking the shot. While Duke does become cloaked during its use, he’s still somewhat visible, and snipers excel at tracking low visibility targets. -- boring and mundane signature Now with more bold! But seriously, even without that, Duke still wins. (1) Duke's knowledge Mercs always know the win condition for any topic they're in, whether it's "kill all enemies," "wrangle the most cows," "bake a delicious cake," or, in this case, "survive for one hour." Duke should be aware that he's on a limited-time survival mission, and he can act accordingly. (2) Duke's survivability As it says in Duke Nukem 3D: "Murderous aliens have landed in futuristic Los Angeles, and humans suddenly find themselves atop the endangered species list. The odds are a million-to-one, just the way Duke likes it!" Hordes of aliens with chainguns, rocket launchers, shotguns, you name it -- and he canonically defeats them all.
