Excluding Tales of Symphonia, don't Star Ocean games sell a lot more than Tales games?

that'd leave you with SO2 which is "no," the PSP games which are "no," SO3, and SO4. against the 360's Tales of which i think sold fairly well. enough that it's in the same tier as SO4 anyway. >_>; there's still half a dozen more Tales of games localized though, so it's def the bigger of the two.

Tales series didn't come to the US (which is where GameFAQs and Gamespot are based) until the PS One game made it here. I remember that there was an effort to bring the SNES title here, because there was a Nintendo Power article preview about it, but it was never released. So it's not in the poll.

I believe ToV sold about 200k and so did ToS2. ToS sold around 500k. All other Tales games sold in the 40k range. I'm not sure how well Star Ocean game sell, though.

Both Star Ocean and Tales started on the PS1 in the US. Tales came out a bit earlier.

i assume those are US figures as i remember TOS being a million seller. still would think it's pretty similar to SO3 overall in sales just because it follows the same trends in that game. well, that and the fact that the PS2's userbase dwarfs the 'cube's.

PSP software doesn't sell, SO2 was pretty much the same as the PS1 Tales incarnations. ToV sold less a bit than i thought, so SO4 having more would make sense in that case just because it was multi-plat. would definitely bank on ToV being the higher of the two with just the 360 though. just is overall very comparable, with the main difference being that there's a lot more Tales of games (both as a whole and in the US).

thought Abyss did better than 40K though! that one's rather sad. guess the 3DS version will make the bigger numbers of the two then. >__>;
