Setting is worse IMHO, but dialogue is better though.
And by the setting being worse, I refer to New Vegas itself. The Mojave Wasteland itself is alright. The city is bad though. Doesn't feel like Vegas at all

It's $9.99 on Steam right now, and I've got a morbid curiosity. I didn't really actively dislike FO3, the dialogue and locales (not the overall setting) were just kind of boring to me and the game didn't hold my attention for very long.
So, is New Vegas better, worse, or about the same?

What is this, some kind of joke?! Go, then. There are other worlds than these.
FONV has a better main quest, better gameplay, and (in general) better dialogue.
FO3 has better sidequests, and better exploration.
So make of that what you will in your decision. Then again, if you're buying it through the Steam sale like I assume you are, what's to lose in $10?

Will not remove this line of my signature until the Seahawks, Jazz or Rockies win a title (Started 5-16-09) Yes, I know I'm never getting rid of this signature
From: YetAnothrShadow | #009 FONV's add ons are alot better than FO3's too.
I strongly disagree here. The Pitt was the best DLC I've ever downloaded for any game, and Point Lookout was pretty awesome too.

From: YetAnothrShadow | #006 Also FONV has a much more diverse environment.
Sand and sand and sand and New Vegas?

I'm sorry Jerry Seinfeld has bad taste.

Emporer_Kazbar posted... Sand and sand and sand and New Vegas?
I didn't play much of FO3 but it seemed like its environments were rubble and rubble and rubble and sewers (pretty sure I quit playing in a sewer because it was so boring, actually)
Anyway, I'm downloading it now. Are there any bug fixes or mods that I should be aware of?

New Vegas is so much better than Fallout 3 it's not even funny. More weapons, more quests, more things to do, crafting, better dialogues, better companions, better DLCs, etc.

Best LPer ever, Gix ! : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vt5YKmP7ecY
I just bought it for $10, got the amazing TF2 Pip Boy, and played 2 hours.
I like it so far... I just finished playing Call of Pripyat though so I can't help but compare the two games, and it seems a lot clunkier than Call of Pripyat. The Pipboy menu is awful, but the VATS is pretty cool. Skills/perks look really interesting so that gives good motivation to level up and explore, and you can steal from/kill anyone you want. Seems promising.
