I'd bet anything that the kid is probably more "traumatized" by the media circus this is assuredly cooking up than by sex with the girl. This is one law that should have different standards for the sexes imo.

I get how the media could be incredibly stressful to the kid, however they've also helped make him a ****ing legend at school for life.

See, I hate this line of thinking. Girls like older guys just as much as boys like older girls. But because you personally find one gross, it should be more punishable by law? That's kinda redonk.

It's a difficult situation. Maybe it's just that I was a 14 year old boy once, but I have a hard time believing that the grand majority, not all 14 year old boys would have given anything to bang a moderately attractive woman. I can't say I believe the same things run through a girl of the same age's mind, but I guess I'm not in the position to make that judgment.

I can only speak from the perspective of a male who was once 14. At 14, I wanted to bang everything with a pretty face and two X chromosomes, especially if they were a bit older and more physically developed. I would not have felt traumatized if this had happened to me - I would have felt like I hit the jackpot. Now, I understand that girls that age also harbor affection for older males (heck, all the boy bands in the world prove that), but I don't feel that these affections are as sexually charged. Now, if some studies refute that and prove that young girls want sex with older men as much as young boys want it from older women, then I'll rethink my stance here. Until then, I don't think these older women should be tried and penalized nearly as harshly. As Pepsi said, they are minting legends.

I think it has to do with San Francisco being super anti-fat, and they see toys coming with fast food as "rewarding" bad eating habits or... Something.

It's not like the miserable parents that take their kid to McDonalds for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner are going to stop that just because there is no toy any longer. You're only penalizing the rest of the occasional fast food goers imo.

I don't think it's really that dumb of an idea. 90% of kids want the Happy Meal for the toy, not the food. So by not including the toy with the Happy Meal, the parent can still buy one if the kid's whiny enough, but then also buy the kid less food for their actual meal.

Unless my memory has distorted over the years, isn't the Happy Meal just a regular cheeseburger, a small fry, and a small drink?

Removing the toy as an incentive, wouldn't that free up the child to in fact request one of the regular meals that contain more food?

Yeah see they added these apple fries or some ****, some fruit. Then there's the chocolate milk you get in the drink selection. Most kids opt for chicken nuggets instead of a cheeseburger.

So yeah, there's your normal Kid's Meal.

I'm totally not even talking about my own kid.

Oh please, we know you can buy it separate due to those weird collectors and when they hit it big with a fad. It's very rarely cause the kid wants every toy.

I only say weird collectors because some people must have every toy that comes out of McDonald's.

By that logic, it would be smarter to include the toy and give them less/healthier food, since they're getting the meal for the toy and not the food anyway.

It would, yeah, but this isn't McDonald's making the choice, and it's easier to tell them "No toy" than it is to "Change your menu."

Thundersheep you continue to fathom me with your ignorance. Secondly, babysitters shouldn't exist if you have a mother. Thirdly, good for this kid.

Yeah Thundersheep really 1.8228 meters me as well.

lol

Seriously, your mom never worked? Never went out just her and your dad? Was always there with you no matter what?

I agree the kid shouldn't need a babysitter at 14, but saying they are all worthless has got to be just the dumbest thing I have ever read.

Also, there might have been a younger kid involved, that the article does not mention, who was actually the one that needed babysitting.
