Not because I hated the film or anything - I thought it was perfectly average - but because it bombed really hard, and the sequel is almost guaranteed to do even worse. Wonder Woman is more well-known for sure, don't get me wrong - but a lot of people seem to think GL is a C-list superhero, and that's flat-out not true. Personally, though, I don't think WB was investing in Green Lantern himself, so to speak; more than anything, I think they just thought a superhero flick with Ryan Reynolds was a surefire success. And hey, maybe that would have been the case last year - but 2011 has had a ton of superhero movies, so GL had to deal with both awful reviews and superhero fatigue.
