Because I had to travel out of state since it's illegal to do it yourself in Oregon.

You'd also think that Gas would be more expensive in the states where they pay people to pump it for you but thats not true.

Also there are some gas stations in NJ where I'll pump myself. Attendant doesn't care and It gets me in and out faster. And we all know the faster you can get in and out the better you'll feel.

I just moved to WA from OR and was wary of doing it myself but I've come to enjoy it a lot more, it's waaaaaay quicker than waiting for an attendant to deal with 5 other cars before yours

Is there some sort of safety thing that I'm just not picking up on here? I have no idea why it would ever be illegal to pump your own gas. It's not like the pumps are confusing or dangerous.

How do you steal gas?

Anywhere i've ever gone where you pump it yourself you either have to swipe your credit card or pay Cash inside first before the pump will release the gas.

I like pumping my own gas. It seems so complicated to have someone else do it, as far as amount, payment, etc.

Short of breaking into the pump with a hatchet, I have no idea how to go about stealing gas. You can't pump any until you pay, and you can only pump the amount that you paid for.

By the sound of it there's still only one, maybe two attendants working at the station. We also have gas stations with one or two workers. Better stop pumping your own gas guys, that unemployment rate will plummet.

Not necessarily. At the bigger gas stations with 8 or pumps, they have maybe 4 or 5 people working and certainly more if there are more pumps. But yeah, the ones with just a couple probably have at least 2 or 3.
