What's more, it's coming out this year, even though we've seen nothing of it at all!
Gabe said once that he didn't feel like he needed to market DotA, that the name would do all the work for him. I suppose throwing a tournament with a million dollar prize doesn't hurt either! I'm absolutely ecstatic to see this game in action.

As of today DotA2 has a page in the Steam store, where it mentions that a large scale beta is planned for fall.
Just a guess, but basd on all we've heard I imagine there'll be an open (or darn close to it) beta in fall, with a release in December.
