I...don't really care much for rts games. Sure, I played the original starcraft some (almost a prerequisite to owning a computer), but was never any good at it.

Perhaps it is the competitive nature of the beast...

Although, more likely, it is that the person I am watching play starcraft 2 is TotalBiscuit and he just has one of those voices that is awesome to listen to. Plus he freely admits he isn't all that great at the game, particularly when it comes to apm.

Even so, the videos I have watched him play have generally been pretty nice. He has a firm grasp of a bunch of strategies and is certainly far from a noob.

This and part 2 were the first starcraft vids of his I watched, basically him getting professional coaching for a few games. Definitely gave me some insight as to the kinds of things professional starcraft players think about and the depth that can be involved.

TotalBisucit is like the best person to watch 'just cuz', even if you don't like whatever it is he's talking about.

His voice is just amazingly awesome for some reason.

Is it similar to watching Starcraft match videos, because I used to spend like two hours a day watching those a year or two ago? It's addicting.

I learned about him by watching his and the yogscast's lp of magicka, then saw he had a terraria lp. After watching those, I dived into his wtf series and became a follower of his mailbox. So many starcraft videos kept popping up that I figured why not and gave them a try...I so far regret nothing.

It is basically him commenting while he is playing a match, so you don't have a godlike view of everything. You see what he does and his reaction to the flow of the game. I have seen some videos where he does do commentary on other people's matches, like most recently I am seeing he is doing some commentary for this tech company tournament thingy, the most recent match being facebook vs yelp.

I have watched days of pro-SC2 without even playing the game. It started because of downtime between WoW matches during MLG and just went on from there. I didn't actually play the game (outside of a run through the campaign) until yesterday. It's honestly just a great spectator sport that is consistently entertaining and impressive. I recommend you try listening to some of Day9's casts if you really like the SC2 aspect and it isn't just TotalBiscuit's voice keeping you interested. www.sc2casts.com is a great place to find some.

Yeah...decided to see how far back the 'i suck at starcraft 2' series went, and found out it started out among his earlier videos. Pretty cool that I could see some of his first games of starcraft 2 and how much more wizened he is nowadays.

Having jumped into things with him being in gold league I kinda took the series name to mean that while he was ok at the game, he was not anywhere near pro status, but after watching these early videos...the title was certainly truth in advertising.
