SPOILERS I GUESS FOR THE MOVIE AND BOOKS MAYBE
I mean, I knew the epilogue in the book was bad, but oh my god they managed to make it terrible in the movies too. not the only one... i had a ton of problems with the overall balance of the book. horcruxes for example:
the good: - spend 6 months to torch one horcrux precipitated by dumbledore's death, snape's tipping his hand, and the ultimate collapse and rebirth of ron's relationship the bad: - the grey lady (who???) coming out of nowhere with a sad backstory about ravenclaw's diadem the ugly: - crabbe and goyle wind up destroying ravenclaw's diadem. crabbe and goyle. -- I'm always serious. I don't see a problem with Crabbe and Goyle (or Goyle and Blaise Zabini) destroying one of the horcruxes either. That's a problem some people had with the book as well. If you look at the list of people who destroy the horcruxes, you have: Voldemort himself Dumbledore Ron Hermione Harry Neville ...and Crabbe. Like, I don't see the problem with it, but I do think it's funny. To be fair, in the book I didn't like how Fiendfyre was one of the few things that could destroy a Horcrux (and it wasn't even mentioned at all at the start of the book) and Crabbe just so happened to cast it. -- Oops! Yeah and I loved the scene in the book so don't get me wrong but there was a kind of "just you and me" about it. This whole movie did a great job of pushing the side plots aside (in a good way imo) and just make it about Harry and Voldemort. Like I get why some of the changes would be annoying but as a movie that was pretty much the right decision to make.

the grey lady was mentioned in the books but her significance felt very random. learning about her TRAGIC PAST was totally out of place
the point about crabbe/goyle destroying the diadem is because they have had zero significance, zero character development, and zero indication of magical competence throughout the series. the fact that crabbe suddenly knows insanely powerful dark magic and is destroying 14% of voldemort's soul is offensively stupid. i got a good laugh out of seeing him shooting fire like a f***ing idiot out of wand though -- I'm always serious. Well, just saw it for a second time. My girlfriend swore to me that there are people watching Harry/Voldy's final fight...and she was right. She pointed out 2 separate shots where you could distinctly see students in between the arches, each shot less than a second long. There was also one shot right before Neville slashes the snake, where the camera's on Harry, but you can see ~20 students walking down the steps and noticing what's going on.
Strange thing is, there are also shots which show the same locations with nobody there, including the area by the stairs, after that shot of students on the stairs. -- People who don't finish their sentences I'm a Castlevania superfan! Ask me anything! ... Copied to Clipboard!
