I somehow forgot about Ekans, but it looks like I have one anyways. I hope the next shiny is Magikarp because leveling it up normally is awful. I'm just going to wait on it and hope the next shiny is Magikarp actually.

Here's the deal with the challenge level. Stall until the golems come out. Catch them and put them on the field. Stall again until two shiny charmanders come out, catch both. Do NOT evolve them right away, let them learn fire fang. Switch to that move, level up appropriately and you should be set.

Oh

They learn Fire Fang if you don't level them?

That makes it all the easier

Yeah, the whole evo thing is a set up initially. Even with dual fire fangs and two golems using magnitude I still had only two or three pieces of candy left. They just kept coming.

Edit: I had three Charmanders and one Golem and I think I had 5 left when I cleared it just now <_< I didn't bother remembering it, but it went pretty well. Of course, I didn't let the Zubats/Onix get any either, I don't think.

I'm sorry but the idea of "don't evolve them so they learn Fire Fang" is stupid
Although I want to believe it's possible to beat it without Fire Fang if you can catch 3 Golems

Got to the not evolving part and I got frustrated because I kept evolving them.

Just beat the challenge level in two tries. The not evolving charmander was super-obvious, mainly because the second level 26 charmanders showed you knew there had to be SOME catch.

Also, had no idea you could catch the golums. I killed them, and just downed the onyx's with more geodudes, ended up just having my charmeleons kill off the vileplumes and winning with two candies left.

So you can! Yay new Golem and Alakazam. (Ps lvl 21 Alakazam barely manages to get past the last nugget bridge trainer). The level after is actually pretty easy comparatively , I had scary face Charmeleon, fire fang Charmeleon, helping hand+fire fang Arcanine, Golem, and Vileplume. And a Pidgeotto but he didnt get to do anything.

btw, where do you get the TM's anyway?

Man, I haven't been in this topic for forever.

And yeah, Route 5 is ridiculously good. Maybe a little too good, considering my Pokemon that are almost at the cap are going up about 2 levels every 3 times through. And my money has grown exponentially!

Actually Jynx is available in shiny version according to the wiki...
A shiny Jynx can be obtained 100% of the time by trading a shiny Poliwhirl.
