All you can see is the players jersey tucked in and maybe the very bottom of the compression shorts theyre wearing.

But yah, the whole uniform is a wreck. Hats have been pretty awesome so far though this spring training.

Probably just look up any clip from a baseball game from yesterday or today. Yesterday was the first day of spring training. All mlb players this season apparently wear see through pants

In a press release, Nike said that it worked with more than 300 players to design a jersey that was more breathable, lightweight and stretchy.

This is 1,000,000% the problem. These types of fabrics tend to have to be very thin. They're trying to solve a problem, and creating another problem.

Come on, let's see more of those San Francisco Giants.

I'm honestly not sure how they will find a perfect solution that both avoids being too... Revealing, but also gets rid of the feeling of swamp crotch.

To be fair, I'm speaking based on the info we're given, which is that apparently a non-negligible amount of players feel it's too revealing. Why? I don't know.

EDIT: Okay, now it makes sense. You, logically, only wear a cup when actually playing. When you don't wear a cup, such as when posing for pictures, well... We can blatantly see the dude's balls, as per the above post. So now I get the complaint a bit more, since it's basically... You have to wear a cup literally any time you put on the pants.

I remember when Nike started making the NBA jerseys and those were a disaster too for the first year or two. They were so lightweight and breathable, that they would just rip at a hint of tugging.

Nike took control of the MLB sponsorship in 2019, but idk if this is the year they made big changes. The uniforms are still being made by Fanatics but Nike is designing them so Fanatics is just doing what Nike says.

Everybody wears compression shirts and shorts under their sportsball uniforms now anyway

As someone that has been hit many times with baseballs, the hulk being a pitcher is extremely scary imo. Like that rock throwing scene in Parasyte scary.

It's Fanatics (the manufacturer) that fucked up, not MLB. There are photos of Major League dick and ass all over the internet. Boxers and briefs too. That guy on the Giants is showing the beans and the frank. Supposedly the unis are lighter for hot days, but they're thin and reportedly flimsy.

Having said that, MLB should tell Fanatics to either go back to the drawing board, or bring back the old ones. They changed the styling too. Logos were repositioned, and numbers and names are smaller.

To be fair, that doesn't make it a non-issue. It just means they didn't notice it as much until recently. It still results in "These should probably be redesigned."

All the MLB said was its made from the same material as last year. If fanatics thinned the material out, which is possible we've seen how cheap they are with the jerseys, you're obviously going to get a different appearance.
