Warnock, Beshear, and Whitmer would all probably destroy any Republican nominee this year but two are in key red state positions and clearly more useful there and one is leading Michigan really well. Not only would Biden stepping down now be a back look on its own but the Democratic candidate would end up being somebody chosen behind closed doors by party leaders rather than primary voters getting to decide.
