It has literally never crashed on me once, and I don't see any noteworthy reports of it crashing. Perhaps it's something wrong with your console and/or save file?

im playing on ultimate and no joke my game has crashed at least 5 times today and i've had to restart from checkpoint a few times because of bugs. Hell i set a civilian down on the stretcher and after the cutscene played out he reappeared on my body and i couldn't do anything but swing lmao

and now i just had to restart the mysterio battle because of invisible enemies

I had only 1 crash but a few bugs. It definitely needs a patch or two.

i'm having a lot of fun but it's very very shoddy yea

3 crashes so far. lots of collision bugs. a few mission breaking bugs. weird pathing and AI bugs. it's a lot

Google searching doesn't even turn up reports of anything like this. The only sources I see reports of constant crashing from are... Well, let's just say they're questionable sources. Have you tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling it, in case something went wrong?

tl;dr: Google turned up a result of somebody dealing with "constant" crashing, but it turns out they modded their console and got the game through... Other means, which is why I called it a "questionable" source.

It crashed probably 5 or 6 times minimum during my playthrough. Not great.

Even that article literally says "We see people saying they are seeing bugs, but we haven't witnessed them."

And it says nothing about crashing, much less 5 times in a single play.

I'm not saying there aren't bugs, just that I certainly haven't witnessed any crashes, and the people who wrote that article haven't, either.

Haven't gotten a crash. Encountered a few bugs though.

The bugs I HAVE witnessed are things like... If I try to set a waypoint for certain side missions/collectibles/whatever, while it shows on the minimap, it doesn't show the typical "waypoint" in the air like other missions do. That's probably the biggest thing I've noticed. Granted, I'm only about halfway through the game, but I do every side thing available to me, so I'm roughly 60% through the WHOLE game, not just the story. And even then, that has only happened on a few things, for me. Not everything.

I got about 3 crashes throughout my playthrough, though that was without the recent patches.

Yeah did get some glitches myself, where it got stuck at times, did not recognise a requirement in a mission and swapped a suit with a glowing cube.

I wish they added the bios and ability to replay missions and podcasts.

you could work around it, but I only found out how after googling about the issue.

besides that, it has performed really well, for me, but if so many people are complaining about bugs/crashes, then I'll just consider my time with the game lucky rather than the norm.

btw, are you playing digital or with a disc?

I got about 4-5 crashes, but they all happened when I was just swinging around.

In 37 hours, it crashed twice on me. After I started closing the game and restarting it (the game, not console) about every 8 hours or so, it ran fine with minimal bugs. That fixed most of my bug issues, actually.

I dunno why it's so glitchy for people, but for me my only issues were it crashed twice.

But what does Metacritic say?

IIRC there was a few bugs related to installation at launch but I don't know if they're still there. My friend got one where textures and audio weren't loading.

I've had it hard crash the PS5 once.

The OG one in 2018 was solid, but MM was filled with awful jank. Really hoped 2 wouldn't be like that as well

Never had a single crash. Not even many bugs.

BG3 has been a complete glitchy mess on PS5 though. Still awesome.

I only had about 2 in 18 hours of play tbh. Sorry you had so many issues, TC.

I'm playing the digital version. I completed my OG run without many glitches. Most was the game freeze when you sat on the bench in the coney island mission that happened to everyone, spider-cube, the game soft locking when you get galvanize, and the audio disappearing in some scenes. That run was literally the day the game came out and now after patches i've somehow had a WORSE experience

Maybe try a fresh download/install? Maybe a patch didn't install correctly or something. I've had that happen with a few games before.

oh yea, the Galvanize thing was the issue I had with the game.

but thanks, I was asking about the digital/physical question to see if there was any pattern, but I also played digital, so idk.

I got two, maybe.

I crashed at least once.

Had to restart at checkpoint at least four times. Once because Peter got stuck on a webline and wouldn't do anything but walk back and forth, once because one of the tutorial prompts wouldn't let me press it, and twice because required enemies got stuck inside of walls.

Had to just restart the game twice. Once because the audio just completely muted itself. I could hear the web swinging through my controller, but not my TV. Once because Miles and Peter were placed with placeholder boxes.

And I'm not positive about this one, but I swear there were a few times where R2 just stopped working for like thirty seconds and I wouldn't swing properly.

So yeah, it's a really fun game, but there's a definite lack of polish there.

lol i had an invisible enemy during that coney island thing too, it was literally the last enemy i had to beat to move on and i could see a red dot on the map but couldn't do anything and he wasn't attacking either. Think i luckily had a web up gadget and it pinned him to the wall.

It crashed for me more than any other major release Ive ever played. Everything could be fixed by restarting the game and I never lost any major progress, but its still not a particularly good showing.

i think in terms of crashing it's definitely not been a great showing for me and i usually play on PC. Now that i think about it i did have a crash or two on my original run but wrote it off. Luckily it saves all the time.

It runs a hell of a lot better than most releases on PC do though but they don't crash on me either lol

I've played it for 10 hours and have had zero crashes

I've had quite a few crashes and game stopping glitches. Never had any issues with the first one. It's honestly pretty bad but not a showstopper for me.

Sounds like patches are in desperate need

Yep, sans Nintendo games. Basically the only company that cares about games bot being bug-ridden hellscapes anymore.

I think it's more of a western vs Japanese thing, than anything else.

I can't remember the last time I played a major AAA Japanese game that had any bugs.

with western games, I think the only studio that I can remember not experiencing any bugs with is Naughty Dog.
