Because people often conflate being able to physically suck down alcohol with being able to handle their alcohol.

My girlfriend (white) often wonders how she can get to the level of drunk to where she wants to party. She has two or three and goes straight to tired mode, skipping party mode entirely.

We often ponder the same question that TC is posing, but have yet to get an explanation.

Might have to do with the type of alcohol shes drinking too

Because they want to drink a lot? Drinking a lot of booze =/= handling the booze well

I meant physiologically

In a physiological sense in order to drink you under the table they have to have a healthier body than you. Thus we can infer, physiologically, that they are healthier than you.

Almost entirely cocktails, usually limited to rum and vodka. Sweeter/fruiter ones for sure. Very occasional glass of vine. No beer or bourbon/whiskey/brandy.

I remember being at the 21st bday party of a friend of mine, and to celebrate the occasion she was taking 21 shots that night. She ended up downing shots of rum, vodka, and whatever other types of liquor she could put into a shotglass 21 different times throughout the night. She was rail thin at the time, so no wonder where it was all going to. Now that it's been about 15 years since then, whenever I'm at a party or whatever and the shots start coming out I'll knock a few back and always wonder how the hell she managed 21 of those.

There's usually soda in them, but yeah maybe it's not a ton of soda. Maybe a coffee before/during.

Because these mannequins you are pouring alcohol on are not actually alive.
