It could, but Hogwarts Legacy doesn't give me a huge amount of hope.

The dopest part of that game is easily getting to walk around Hogwarts and Hogsmeade, and I'm sure an MMO could also nail that. But 90% of the game is spent engaging with a really dry world and story.

If there's an MMO, I'd like it to be based entirely in wizarding locations, and not "theScottishhighlands.jpg"

Also it's probably too late, both MMOs and Harry Potter have kind of been burnt to death at this point.

I'm not one to talk, having not played the game at all. But I felt burnt by Harry Potter as a teenager myself once I read the last book. I was already critical of the movies as a teenager, and I never saw the last one, the second to last one having pissed me off enough.

I don't really care to take away from the enjoyment others get from the franchise, but I personally found got tired of (what I considered) a lazily done world.

I've kind of grown tired of the fantasy trope "normal people don't notice magic because they're fucking dumbasses". Like bruh that is exactly why a crew of drunk teenagers would barge right into Platform 9 3/4 after seeing some wizard kid do it.
