It is a legitimate solution in theory. I agree in practice it would be pretty impossible right now, but so was 99% of what was theorized in the late 60s when it came to computing and look where we are now because of it.

Like I said. A lot of what we are using now were theorized in the late 60s. We would not be where we are today without those theories.

People assume technology s always living in the now when it is exactly the opposite. NASA is decades ahead of where it can be, but they do their work knowing it cannot be applied in practice using today's technology. Limiting yourself to what can only be done now without regard to a future is one of the most regressive forms of human "achievement"

You are also unaware of how this doesn't actually really combat the deepfake problem. The real problem with deepfakes is the initial viewing. The people who don't bother to find out if what they saw was real or not.

Anyway, crypto is a huge vague umbrella for a lot of Web3 technologies. If you are referring to proof of work tokens such as Bitcoin, I am 100% against the use of those technologies. But there is nothing inherently "wrong" with the idea of a blockchain, or crypto itself for that matter. The amount of energy is wasted is solely dependent on the solutions we decide to roll with going forward.

I don't believe in NFTs either, anymore than I do as a protection for digital artist rights. Not the "lol bored ape gimme money" markets.
