I want to say that's the stat that changed how many frames you could roll through an attack with in that game, but that can't be right. That's got to be dexterity or something right?

Annoying, but not really that big of an issue. You level up really quickly in the beginning of DS2, so it's not a huge deal to put a few points into ADP first.

It's a shit stat for a shit Souls game. What's the problem?

No, it was. It also influenced estus chug speed, so it was pretty important.

It fucking sucks but it's hardly a huge commitment to get to Souls 1 frames. Considering how that game absolutely shits out souls, it doesn't exactly take long to make it a non-issue.

I hated adaptability and soul memory, but otherwise enjoyed DS2. Especially the DLC.

Had some of the coolest weapons in the series, I miss the Gyrm Greathammer.

It sux but DS2 is terrible for a multitude of reasons and Adaptability overshadow all those other reasons

i've always had something of a hot take where i think adp is actually underrated -- not as an idea (it sucks as an idea), but as a stat in terms of how powerful it is.

like the advice i saw about adp and at least on the pvp side of things was get a ds1 roll and call it a day. but i've also fought against players that had it maxed out and there's a huge difference. between the roll iframes and the backstep iframes, i think i'd rather deal with dwgr.

basically in order of bullshit:

pre-nerf bhs > max adp > post-nerf bhs = dwgr

Never bothered with it because I just use a shield

Dark Souls 2 has some of the best shields in the series with the most insane stamina use reduction so I don't really mind ADP. It's just a dump stat for dex builds imo

Worst thing about DS2 is some of the boss run ups. They're fuckin brutal.

Not as bad as other DS games.
With a few exceptions, there usually was a bonefire near the boss door (sometimes literately right o top of it).

And offset by enemies that can be farmed to extinction, and restored through bonfire aesthetics and the covenant of champions.

Like everything else in DS2 even down to fashion souls stuff...shit.

And SOTFS was too little too late, game is still crap compared to DS3 which resolved basically all the mechanical flaws of the first game as well as overall enemy design.

It shouldn't be a stat. First time I played DS2 I thought the gameplay sucked and it essentially was because of my low adaptability. I had no idea that increasing it would give me more inv. frames. That is a pretty big design flaw in my opinion.
