Her performance at Eurovision is super cool but maybe you can watch this video of her singing it after returning home to Sweden. She came straight from the airport so shes wearing regular clothes but you get to hear the song

I hate it. It was too similar to the previous one and you could not make out one word of what she was saying even though it was supposed to be English. The performance also wasn't anything special.

Competing in music is of course weird when you think about it, since music taste is so hyper subjective. But considering the immense commerical success of Tattoo, it is striking a chord with many. It is okay to not see/feel/get it tho

Hate feels like a strong word? She has her style tho. Both Euphoria and Tattoo are key examples of her music style. Loreen is guilty of often mumbling however, I agree there. I love the performance however so disagree there.

I honestly don't recall ever hearing a Eurovision song I would willingly listen to. There are probably some I've heard on the radio over the years without realizing they were in Eurovision though.

You probably have yeah. Arcade that won in 2019 is a likely example. The original version of the song has closer to 1 billion streams on Spotify.

Yeah, I've heard that before. I don't think it's bad, but it's not something I'd listen to myself. TBH the only Eurovision songs I can recall are Hard Rock Hallelujah, because it was so awful and everywhere, and J'aime la vie, because it's the only time we won and the radio stations here make damn sure we don't forget it.

Both those songs are classics imo

Snap from last year (Armenia) became a big radio and streaming hit. It did not do very well in the contest but took off after. So maybe youve heard it.

Oh yeah, I quite like that song. I'm not rushing to add it to my playlist, but I'm not switching stations if it's on the radio. You know, it's probably because I mainly remember the weirdos like Lordi and those creepy Irish twins that I have this view that Eurovision songs aren't worth listening to.

I just now remembered one we sent a few years back that I didn't find half bad. IIRC it's Tom Dice with Me And My Guitar. I did get sick and tired of it like every single entry of ours as they bash you over the head with it here.

The weird acts are the ones that tend to stick in peoples memories, at least if youre not a big fan of Eurovision and really listen to the songs frequently. There are many pop gems through the years.

Tom Dice was good! I actually went to Eurovision that year, 2010. It was in Norway.

Loreen is indeed a good vocalist. You are allowed to have pre-recorded backing vocals since 2021 but the lead singing must be live. And she just use a reverb effect at times. Some overuse pre-recorded stuff though imo, like Finlands entry this year. Great fun song but it would sound way different live if Finland had sent it before 2021.

Considering I was one of the few to actually post in this topic, it was kind of a dick move not to participate in the poll.
I'd say a 6.5/10 and that's solely due to her vocals. The music itself is generic euro beat #543251. There are several hundred tracks just like it. Her vocals are powerful, but I get the feeling the win is more due to the aesthetics of the performance rather than the actual song itself.

EDIT: Take that last sentence with a grain of salt as I haven't seen/heard any other of the performances or songs.
