Sad that America has come to this, when I was a kid the only drills we did was for an earthquake (happens once or twice in a lifetime)

And there are people that think this is totally normal and ok

This is basically an overdramatized version of "shooter training" they make you watch every month at WalMart. There were old ladies that were convinced that it should be taught in schools and everywhere else because it would "make people safer". That's probably like 90% of the reason why this exists.

When was that? Pre-2014? They made us watch "Active Shooter Training" as part of required "training" every month.

My previous jobs have had training and test drills for things like this. We've had the police came and demonstrate what we should do if something like this happen.

So yeah, even though some of you guys have never had this kinda drill or training, these kinda dramatization training videos shouldn't be a complete shocker.

i watched a video like this before my job at the hospital i work at....the video i watched was fucking weird. it was basically hobo with a shotgun (dude in trench coat with a shotgun) and it was really graphic for a psa video

I worked at a summer camp in 2013 and we had active shooter instruction as part of our pre-camp training. This stuff isn't new.

They definitely started doing it in 2016 when I was working there then. I think the Walmart shooting in Denver made then consider making it an every month thing.

The necessity of this is kinda sad. They left out that if you fight back and do successfully subdue the shooter you are at risk of being shot by the responding officers

Yup. Growing up in the 90s and 00s in America, we never had anything like this. It was never on our minds. Columbine happened but it was more of an awful aberration and not a regular occurrence.

its the murican way. It is an ingrained part of USA culture like baseball.

Unlikely that shooter would even started anything if this was an open carry state. The shooter would be immediately neutralized by a good guy with a gun.

There was an active shooter training at my old job and I was told that since I was a young fit male, I was expected to put my life on the line to protect the company and my coworkers.

When I worked at one they made us watch the video every time there was a mass shooting involving a retail store or Walmart. This was pre-covid so id imagine at the rate their happening now, they're definitely watching them once a month.
