Boktai was a video game series for Konami involving a boy who uses the sun to power his solar gun and kill zombies and vampires. The game cartridges actually had solar sensors on them and altered gameplay based off how much sunlight was hitting your game cartridge. Boktai collaborated with Battle Network and Star force a lot.

How do you use sunlight on Steam?

I'll never get how Boktai was even playable. Sure, the Gameboy Advance SP's backlit screen was a game changer when compared to its predecessors. But playing a game in direct sunlight is still hell today with even better lit smartphones.

A shame Sol Cross Mega Man isn't included in 5. I'm psyched for the Boktai stuff in 6, though. I'm glad it didn't get cut this time.

The Boktai content in Battle Network isn't irl sunlight based, it's crossover content like battle chips.

However, if you're jacked in from an outside source when playing battle network, those battle chips do get a powerup. Nice little homage to the games they're linked with.
