Your brain is just wired a certain way, and the longer you deny it, the worse it gets until you start becoming obsessed and having meltdowns like I did back in November. Transgender isn't a choice. And to be honest, when you first realize it you are mostly thinking "this is bullshit, what the fuck?" I am fairly convinced that in the end a human being is a sum of their physical bodies. Brain, blood, flesh. The struggle kind of proves that these identities are innate. Your brain chooses who you are, and no matter how hard you fight it, your choices are transitioning or continuing to disassociate with reality. That's it. It's really not about your gender. It's about who you actually are inside, not the person that you thought you had to be. But when that person is a different gender than the one you're currently attempting to be, it's significantly more impactful on your ability to understand the world around you. It's not really about your sex/gender - it's way, way deeper than that.
