Not fucking worth the absolute nightmarish dog shit I've gone through up to this point. I feel sick all the time. I'm terrified of childbirth. Still have to work fucking 12 hour hospital shifts.

Why wasn't I born with a fucking Y chromosome ffs

It's 3 am, can't sleep, can't stop crying. I hate feeling vulnerable.

I miss being a guy. Life was so much fucking easier, and people here were kind enough to treat me like one. Now look at me.

At least by its very nature, pregnancy is a temporary condition. It'll be over soon.

A friend of mine is going through the process of transitioning to being a trans man, they go by they/them at the moment. Earlier this year, they gave birth to a daughter with their current partner - as far as I know, they plan to transition over time.

I don't mean to imply that you can't present or identify as a guy when you're pregnant, though it seems like that's something you've been struggling with as of late, but when the baby is out - you can be a guy again. This isn't a permanent development, no-one is gonna look at you and be like "that's not a man". I don't doubt it's tough right now, but relief is on the horizon.

Thanks for the nice kind words. I fully transitioned to female. I'm ok with that. I just wish I hadn't done any of this shit.

You don't have to fully understand that someone is growing another human inside of them. You just have to be there for her. Like you said. Support her in every way you can. Physically and emotionally.

If it's any consolation, I'm a weird little asshole, and my wife and I now have two incredibly bright kids, who are weird and also little. Just do your best, that's all you can do, and I'm sure you'll be an absolutely great parent.

You know, if there's one lesson I've learned through this process, it's that being a woman is fucking hard. And not even just from a social standpoint, but from a purely biologic one as well. I guess a lifetime of identifying as male shielded me from some of this. I always wanted to be tough enough to be a guy, not realizing that I wasn't tough enough to be a girl.

As a woman born with that defect I can't tell you bad an idea that is. :( Sorry you're going through all these horrible chemical induced changes and stuff. But at least an end date is somewhat in sight for you.

Having a y chromosome is a defect? OP wishes they were born with a Y chromosome, so he wouldn't have to be judged and suffer from the issues FTM and trans people in general face.

How hard is it to show empathy? I guarantee you if OP was born with a Y chromosome, his life would be a lot easier. You are trivializing his struggle transitioning to a man by basically saying "lol no you don't having a Y chromosome is a defect"

Like come the fuck on. FTM folk get shit on enough and ignored as it is. Stop making everything about yourself.

I can't imagine, but my heart goes out to you Amber. It really does. Pregnancy is a real struggle that requires an immense amount of strength to get through, and I know you *will* get through it, it's just that no part of it will be fun. We're always here when you need to vent.

It's OK, @gunplagirl is my friend. She and I talk about this stuff a lot.

We've gone through a lot together. I understand how she feels about these things and can totally empathize.

Basically as an early teenager I chose to present as male, and stayed that way until basically this year.
