There will never be such a thing as sentient, living AI. If humans create any form of true intelligence or life it will be manufactured biologically. Having said that, I believe there will be a proof of concept manufactured life form in our lifetimes. If we don't perish to biodiversity collapse before then GPT-4 will be a good simulated intelligence but at the end of the day it will still be lines of code and if-statements and mathematical algorithms. I don't know. If they do, I would actually expect it to be something like a prosthetic that people could have implanted, that boosts what is already there. We already have implants for memory. I don't think AI alone would reach that point in my life time. Maybe my children's, but not mine. However I could see an ai interface combined with a human brain reach something like, or at least could be described as that. --- I do drawings and stuff https://www.fiverr.com/blueblitz ...
