Ive wanted to switch to electric for awhile now and especially with a baby on the way. My current car is a 2019 challenger RT and its paid off though. I also have solar panels at home. They have some good prices on used Teslas near me. I could get the same year as my car with 5k less miles for 32k

any thots?

eh... i personally would never trade a chally wally for a tesla, especially when that chally's paid off, but if that's what you want to do man. i will say a good sedan works way better for a baby so that being your situation it makes more sense but man... teslas though. idk man. i hear so much bad shit.

Have you looked at other electric cars in the market? Tesla very much has an added price because it's trying to be a "premium" brand. Most car brands also have electric vehicles that are a fair bit cheaper than Teslas are.

Also, there was a story a while ago where literally every Tesla that has been on the road has been recalled at some point or another.

If you plan to sell it after 5 years, go for it. If you are one of those 10+ years type owner, be prepared to shell out another 20k+ after 10 years.

Dont buy a Tesla. Buy a Q4/i4 instead. Teslas are overpriced and cheaply made.

Realistically the US isnt ready for electric vehicles enough to splurge on a Tesla in my opinion. If you want to go electric its best to go with something cheaper like a Prius or even a hybrid.

If you guys got a better alternative to a Tesla Im all ears, I have no loyalty to any brand. My cars have been gone from 16 mustang to 19 challenger in like 3 years

Damn. That Q4 is nice. But idk man thats a big jump. My plan was to trade in and spend like 5-6k max on just paying the Tesla in cash. I saw one for like 33k I liked. If I get max like 27kish for the challenger, would need to finance like another 30k

GF has a Model 3, we've had a great experience with it. The auto-pilot function is useful. The only thing is you generally can't just take it to a regular mechanic if something goes wrong.

I've been planning on going electric for my next car and also had my eye on the Model 3, but it seems like it'd be best to wait 2-3 years. All the other automakers are finally getting onboard so there should be a lot more competition and innovation in electrics. Tesla already charges more for similar specs and I've heard a lot of Model 3 quality complaints.
