Her tomb was kept secret at the time of her death and its never been found. This would be massive archeology news if true

I feel like with how fast news moves in the age of social media, it will be cool for a week and then we move on.

Most people will do that, I agree. But the tomb will probably be studied for decades. Actual archeologists will be engaged for a long time

There is no proof for this theory. But if it did, the history of the famous Cleopatra would change forever.

Also holy shit that site is obnoxious. Bunch of pop-ups that uBlock ignores by default. Hitting Back won't let you navigate away from the page. Even copying that text somehow tacked an ad for the site onto the ctrl + V.

When Cleopatra reigned as queen,
With Roman leaders she was often seen
But when she had no ruling friend,
She found a poison snake to bite her in the end

I would've figured that the Romans would've chucked her body into a bonfire or something considering that they basically viewed her as a conniving seductress who was the birth mother of Caesarion, Octavian's greatest threat to his claim to be Caesar's heir.

She was buried secretly. The Romans didn't know where she was. It's always been a mystery. Only the people present for her burial, knew the location

I dont know why, but it always annoys me when she is referred to as just Cleopatra. This makes it sound like she was the only one. Pet peeve I guess.

I read about this a week or two ago. Supposedly they unearthed a long-lost tunnel that potentially leads to the tomb, which is now submerged under the Mediterranean Sea. Amazing find if it pays off, but highly unlikely that they'll bring up any pristine Tutankhamun-esque relics after having spent two millennia in ocean water. The tomb could've also been damaged beyond recognition by the very quakes that submerged it.

Honestly, just being able to confirm that it's hers would be a tremendous achievement in itself, what with her being arguably the most famous Egyptian Pharaoh in history

If the burial chamber itself has been completely submerged I wouldn't expect there to be any human remains but in the off chance that there are, I wonder if they would find two bodies since tradition holds that she was buried with Marcus Antonius.
