Its easier to find a spot and easier to get out and I really don't mind an extra 30 seconds of walking

Nah but I'm not gonna be one of those fools who drives around the lot three times waiting to snipe a close spot as soon as someone else pulls out. I'll go through one or two rows before I just grab whatever spot. I get that Americans are lazy, but I have better ways to get exercise than walking a stupid parking lot.

When I went to college I would always park in the back of the lot. Took only a few seconds, I could pull right in immediately. Everybody else would circle around in the front rows looking for a spot, and by the time I walked across the lot, they were still driving around trying to find a place.

Not like all the way back, but definitely closer to the back than the front where there's less traffic. You're already gonna be walking around pushing a cart in the store for a while; what's another minute?

I always generally park away from (or toward the edges of) the crowd when it's feasible. Less effort when searching for a spot and less chance my car will be damaged.

Plus, it's usually faster that way.

I usually don't mind parking far. However, the weather and how much I'm carrying can have an influence on my decision. My father is one of those people who would keep going through the lot to get the closest spot. If he can't get one of the closest spots, he will complain.

And less vehicle and pedestrian traffic to avoid/wait for. If there's one thing I hate about driving, it's waiting for other people.

I just park in the accessible parking. They're always empty and up at the front near the store. Never been towed or ticketed
