Yeah, but not yet. I'm going to be very busy over the next few months and am short of funds at the moment.

Do love that they abstracted war, so you're just assigning generals and strategies and scrambling to keep your boys in the field supplied and provisioned, rather than having to manually move stacks around the map. Feels more thematic for the Victoria series.

I played fucking Victoria: Revolutions. I fucking manually split pops.

I haven't been keeping up with it, but I've put more hours into eu4 than almost any other game. I played Victoria 2 a little bit and enjoyed it although it was a bit dated.

I'll probably get it next year when it's on sale with expansions and major bugs wrinkled out.

Yes, already pre-ordered. Victoria 2 was my first Paradox game, so I'm hyped. It also looks fun from all those videos of it coming out in the past few days.

I like the changes to the war system too. Victoria 2's system was often too much for me to keep track of.

Yeah, I can't quantify how often I lose track of stuff in literally every Paradox game while fighting a war, because I'm busy baby-sitting my stacks. It's not so bad a thing in EU or Stellaris, but it was always rough in Vicky.

Just came to post this same question lol. Yeah, the dev diaries have made it clear they've put a LOT of work into improving the satisfying depth of the game while streamlining the player's interactions with the economic portions of the game. They've made some pretty bold choices as well, such as removal of a national treasury in favor of a running budget and removing building limits in favor of soft caps based on population, that I think will really remove some of the more gamified portions of most strategy games.

No. Games like that are obsessive time sinks for me, and I don't need to add those into my life anymore.

Likely I would but my laptop is basically useless at this point so no way to play it.

I wonder if armies aren't stacks if it'll be harder to play smaller nations since gamey tactics won't be a thing.

Apparently army quality is very important, and if you have a good defensible border, you can probably hold out pretty well as long as your army is good. If it's a bunch of poorly-equipped conscripts, then yeah, you *should* get wrecked.

But it should also encourage smaller powers to cozy up to one or more regional or even great powers for protection.

I wasn't even aware it came out today until Saturday. I knew it was in development but I didn't imagine it would come out anytime soon. But yes, I will get it for sure. I sunk so many hours playing Vicky 2.

Not yet but I did watch a video of a guy playing as Deseret.

Currently a few years into my inaugural Upper Canada game. Just annexed Lower Canada and am working toward establishing the rest of the Confederation.

Vicky 2 isn't as complicated as people think. Once you know what to do is pretty straightforward.

Yeah, it's more opaque and unintuitive than hard. Once you understand it, breaking it over your knee isn't difficult.
