Or at least a couple of them. It'll save me on the overall repair job and would benefit my car in general.

My question is that as someone who sleeps in my car with the windows just barely cracked to the point where one probably couldn't tell if they didn't know better, am I in any more danger than usual of CO poisoning?

Add more catalytic convertors. Including fake ones. Have like 15 on your car.

FYI if it wasn't clear, I'm not a car guy. I'm just going off what the mechanic I went to suggested. If I did that, it will cost me ~2700, whereas if I actually did the full repair I'm looking at over $4k

So far, it's a pretty easy choice. But as someone who lives out of my car, I want to make sure I'm not endangering myself by doing it.

sleeping in a car that is off is probably ok regardless of c.c.

sleeping in a running car with or without a c.c. is probably not ok.

but no c.c. definitely makes sleeping in a running car more not ok.

Well, the car's definitely not off. I've had to run the A/C since it's Florida in mid-July.

When winter comes, it won't be nearly as much of an issue

Catalytic converters are like 300 and it's like a 15 minute welding job. Sell the broken cats for material value, hire a welder to stick in an aftermarket one. There's sensors in the exhaust, you'll want cats to avoid fucky behaviour.

That is literally impossible.

Yeah Cats have gone up in price considerably. Also, do you live in an emission test state?
