I never would've guessed this type of event would lead to that. I was informed a few years ago that it does quite often, and I was really surprised. They responded with "It's a gathering of tons of people with common interests, of course it would happen."

I wish my eyes were never opened to that fact.

At any decent sized cons there is always some kind of sex debauchery happening in the rooms. You could probably find any fetish you wanted.

I kept hearing about one con that had a full on orgy every year. But each year it has a cosplay requirement and the only way to be invited is to be attractive and in cosplay.

One of my exes runs an anime and table-top gaming convention.

He knows because we've talked about it before. I know it's a stereotype that convention goers are socially awkward, overweight, smelly geeks... But knowing others can find that kind of success makes me feel worse about myself. So, knowing that these stereotypically not so socially successful people can have that experience really hammers home how big of a loser I am.

I have been going to the wrong conventions...

Why? You should go to a con involving something you enjoy and meet other people who enjoy the same thing.

I have known some of the biggest nerds but they still can get action now and again by putting themselves out there. They might be all kind of negative things from a traditional social standpoint, but they are passionate about what they like and they find like minded individuals. That leads to friendship, companionship and sex.

I went to a workers' compensation con once and there was some drinking but not a lot of fucking

Saint Louis has a yearly small regional Sci-Fi/Fantasy convention called Archon. It has around 1500 to 2000 people but it has a hospitality suite with free beer and a dance party with a dj in the one of the ballrooms. If you can't get laid there, you aren't meant to get laid.

I never got to partake because I was already engaged when I started going but the amount of people hooking up every year is insane.

That's why I said I know it's just a stereotype. They all just people, like anyone else. I didn't intend for it to be cruel, just trying to frame it better for why I regret learning what goes on.

They found success where I can't. I'm envious of those people too, but they're not a massive gathering of thousands of people where it's apparently going on constantly. So, it bothers me to a lesser degree.

That is not at all what I just did. You guys could go to cons, talk about your passions, and find friendship, if not sex.

Where was the superiority? When I defended con goers? When I endorsed people taking control of their lives?

Never been to one, but I might have to go just to meet people and see what it's like. Might see if some friends want to tag along or something. Collinsville is about 10 miles away from my home.

Do, do content creators get laid easily?

A con is a relatively easy place to get laid.

However, I think a lot of those orgy stories are a running joke. My favorite one is how there was supposed to be some orgy where everyone meet at a public spot at a certain time. No one showed up for the orgy, but a ton of people showed up to watch the spot to see if anyone did show up.
