heard about this story on the radio. an HOA has a rule against 'political flags' (or signs, etc) in people's yards. this guy's son was a cop who was killed in the line of duty and in remembrance of his child, he started flying a 'thin blue line' flag. his HOA told him to take it down because it was 'political' and (of fucking course) this pissed off a specific group of people who are now 'protesting' (read: canceling) the HOA.

This. They openly support bad cops. The thin blue line is just a no snitching gang mentality type of thing and putting cops up on a pedestal that they belong nowhere near.

I don't think it started out as such but it most certainly has become one. I'm sure for families of officers it means something, but once BLM movement started you've seen a huge rise in those flags. Most of the ones I see are also in yards with MAGA flags.
