I once had a layover in Dallas that was on the other side of the airport from where I landed and was also leaving in roughly five minutes. So I had to book it.

You could get a job as a Snapple undercap writer with knee slapping quips like that.

This one time, when I was working as a limo driver, I dropped a gorgeous woman off at the airport. As I was watching her walk away and quietly admiring her ethereal beauty from afar, I noticed she had sat her very expensive briefcase on the floor, but had forgotten to pick it back up before walking away.

Taking it upon myself to go above and beyond the call of duty in my line of work, I immediately rushed inside and, without losing momentum, snatched the luggage off the ground just as two seedy-looking characters were about to grab it.

I almost ran directly into a nun after that as I was rushing away, but I politely excused myself and continued my running to return the case.

Hoo boy, that was actually the start of a crazy adventure, for both myself as well as my best friend and roommate.

Heathrow, info board gave us our gate number on one literal end of the airport and when we got to it we were told it had been changed to one at literally the other end.

One time I was dropping off a friend and we hugged and parted ways. Then a minute later I felt into my pocket and realized that I still had their lip balm from earlier. So I ran across the airport and shouted "(redacted), you forgot the balm" and then I woke up.

The very first time I got on a plane as a kid. Our family was flying to Florida for vacation and my dad is afraid of flying and pulled over outside the airport because he didn't want to do it. My mom talked him into it but we were late as hell and they had to hold the door of the gate for us. This was before 9/11 so we didn't have security to go through.

I've had some close calls where I had to power walk through an airport but never had to run and never missed a flight.

When you say 5 minutes til leaving, do you mean the boarding time or the actual expected pull away time?

The name is wackyteen for a reason. Never doubt.

I did once. Same story. Had a layover in Atlanta. Had to literally run to catch the train so that we could get to the correct gate and then ran to the gate which (of course) was at the very end of the gate section. Luckily I only had two bags.

Have to say I've never had a dream about this even though I've experienced it in real life.
